Continuiamo a parlare di Sara e Sandro

La morte di Sara Ardizzone e Alessandro Mercogliano, avvenuta la notte tra il 19 e il 20 marzo a Roma a seguito dell’esplosione e del crollo di un casolare nel Parco degli Acquedotti, ha aperto una ferita che non vuole essere rimarginata. La reazione spontanea del movimento anarchico in Italia e nel mondo è stata in larghissima parte dignitosa, coerentemente con il percorso di vita di due rivoluzionari caduti combattendo. È mancato però finora un vero e proprio momento di confronto. Non è un fatto di cui ci rammarichiamo, anzi pensiamo che i tempi dilatati siano in qualche modo necessari di fronte alla natura di questo evento. Sono inevitabilmente i tempi lunghi del dolore, ma sono anche i tempi lunghi della comprensione materiale dei fatti.

Non crediamo che la postura da prendere nei confronti di questa tragedia debba essere quella di una lotta specifica, con le urgenze e le contingenze e l’ansia di fare qualcosa di “pratico” che una lotta specifica impone. Certamente una vicenda del genere ha avuto come corollario anche il manifestarsi di una serie di momenti di lotta: il tentativo di sabotare con ogni misero stratagemma la partecipazione ai funerali, il fermo preventivo di 91 anarchici nel tentativo di depositare dei fiori nei presi del luogo dell’incidente la mattina del 29 marzo, la macchina del fango mediatica contro la pasquetta in Valnerina in ricordo di Sara. Tutti momenti che se sono diventati di lotta lo sono diventati a causa dell’atteggiamento dello Stato e dei suoi servi, nei diversi posti di combattimento allocati (nelle questure e nelle redazioni, nei ministeri e nei tribunali), un atteggiamento teso a voler stendere una coltre di silenzio e di emarginazione morale sui nostri compagni. Si pensi su tutti alla rivendicazione politica del presidente del consiglio Giorgia Meloni del fermo preventivo dei 91 anarchici, prima applicazione assoluta di questo dispositivo introdotto nell’ultimo “pacchetto sicurezza”.

Al netto di questi episodi di lotta, tanto più necessari in quanto era di primaria importanza respingere al mittente il monito da parte dello Stato teso a isolare socialmente e moralmente i due compagni caduti, non intendiamo la questione essenziale della memoria di Sara e Sandro come una vicenda da subordinare alle urgenze di una rivendicazione specifica, ma come un’eredità e un patrimonio da conservare negli anni e nei decenni, da portare esso stesso nelle lotte, in ogni lotta specifica.

Pensiamo che passati alcuni mesi da questo evento possa essere convocato un primo momento di confronto globale sui fatti. Un confronto che dovrebbe prendersi il tempo necessario per riflettere su almeno tre grandi ambiti.

In primo luogo, l’aspetto tecnico. Dovrebbe infatti essere prevista entro due mesi la scadenza dei tempi per il deposito dei risultati delle autopsie, così come potrebbero cominciare a essere depositate le informative di sbirri e magistrati su come a loro parere si sarebbero svolti i fatti. Dire che non abbiamo alcuna fiducia nel lavoro dei professionisti della repressione sarebbe un eufemismo, in quanto il nostro atteggiamento nei loro confronti è di aperta ostilità. Nondimeno, nelle condizioni date, con lo Stato che detiene il monopolio della scienza, della ricerca, della stessa disponibilità fisica dei corpi e del luogo dell’esplosione, le risultanze delle loro sgradite ricerche assumono il valore di materiale “oggettivo”. Un compito importante sarà allora quello di decostruire questo materiale, cercando di capire se c’è qualcosa che non torna, qualcosa da denunciare, qualcosa su cui fare controinformazione e controinchiesta.

In secondo luogo, vorremmo aprire una discussione di tipo etico-politico sulla vicenda. Una discussione che per la verità è iniziata immediatamente dopo i fatti, grazie ai tantissimi comunicati che hanno rivendicato con fierezza la fratellanza e la complicità con Sara e con Sandro, che si è tenuta nelle assemblee improvvisate a poche ore dalla diffusione della notizia della loro morte, che è proseguita ai margini delle manifestazioni che ci sono state, negli interventi nei pressi dei cimiteri, come pure all’interno delle celle di sicurezza della questura di Roma. Vuoi perché alienata dalla diffusione virtuale, vuoi perché dispersa nei rivoli delle diverse iniziative, vuoi soprattutto per mancanza, del tutto naturale, di lucidità a seguito di una tragedia che per molte settimane ha sconvolto ogni nostro pensiero, è mancato un momento di discussione orizzontale e globale, convocato con sufficiente preavviso affinché i compagni potessero organizzarsi per essere presenti e che potessero arrivarci con dei ragionamenti che nel frattempo si sono sedimentati.

Da ultimo vorremmo affrontare una discussione sulle questioni pratiche e organizzative da mettere in campo per continuare a far vivere Sara e Sandro nei nostri percorsi. Dalle manifestazioni pubbliche, alle iniziative di tipo editoriale, dalla dedica di spazi a loro nome alla postura da tenere nei processi in cui questi compagni erano nostri coimputati, e altro ancora che dovesse emergere nel corso della discussione.

Let’s continue talking about Sara and Sandro

The deaths of Sara Ardizzone and Alessandro Mercogliano on the night of 19–20 March in Rome, following the explosion and collapse of an abandoned cottage in the Parco degli Acquedotti area, have created an open wound that is not intended to heal. For the most part, the spontaneous reaction of the anarchist movement in Italy and around the world has been dignified and coherent with the life paths of two revolutionaries who died fighting. However, a genuine moment of reflection has been lacking so far. We do not regret this, but rather believe that the extended timeframe is necessary given the nature of this event. These are inevitably long, grief-filled days, but they are also days spent coming to a concrete understanding of the facts.

We do not believe that we should take a stance of specific struggle towards this tragedy, with all the urgency, contingencies and anxiety that such a struggle imposes, in order to do something “practical”. Of course, this kind of event has also been accompanied by moments of struggle: attempts to sabotage participation in funerals using every petty stratagem; the preventive custody of 91 anarchists who were trying to lay flowers near the accident site on the morning of 29 March, the media smear campaign against the Easter Monday gathering in Valnerina to commemorate Sara. These all became moments of struggle precisely because of the attitude of the state and its servants stationed at various battlefronts (in police headquarters and newsrooms, in ministries and courts), an attitude aimed at casting a blanket of silence and moral ostracism over our comrades. Above all, consider the political justification by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni for the preventive custody of the 91 anarchists, the first ever application of this measure introduced from the government in the latest “Pacchetto Sicurezza” (Security Act).

Beyond these episodes of struggle, which were all the more necessary given the paramount importance of rejecting the state’s monition aimed at socially and morally isolating our two fallen comrades, we do not view the question of Sara and Sandro’s memory as subordinate to the urgent demands of a specific claim. Rather, we view it as a legacy and heritage to be preserved over the years and decades by carrying it into every specific struggle.

We believe that, a few months after this event, an initial global discussion about the facts could be organised. A discussion that would allow time for reflection on at least three major topics.

First, the technical aspect. A deadline for submitting autopsy results should be set within two months, and reports from cops and prosecutors on how they believe the events unfolded should start being filed. Saying that we have no confidence in the work of the repression professionals would be an understatement, as our attitude towards them is one of open hostility. Nevertheless, given the current circumstances, with the state holding a monopoly on science, research and physical access to the bodies and the explosion site, the findings of these unwelcome investigations assume the status of “objective” material. It will therefore be important to deconstruct this material, seeking to understand if there is something that doesn’t add up, something to denounce, something on which to base counter-information and a counter-investigation.

Secondly, we would like to initiate an ethico-political discussion about this case. A discussion that, truth be told, began immediately after the events, thanks to the many statements proudly claiming brotherhood and solidarity with Sara and Sandro, which were made in improvised assemblies just hours after news of their deaths spread and continued at demonstrations, in interventions near cemeteries and inside holding cells at Rome police headquarters. However, whether due to being overshadowed by the virtual sphere, scattered across various initiatives or, above all, the entirely natural lack of mental clarity following a tragedy that had shaken our thoughts for weeks, there was a lack of horizontal, global discussion convened with sufficient advance notice for comrades to organise their attendance and bring matured arguments.

Lastly, we would like to discuss the practical and organisational matters that need to be addressed to ensure that Sara and Sandro’s memory is kept alive in our path forward. From public demonstrations to publishing initiatives, from dedicating spaces in their names to our stance in legal proceedings where these comrades were and are our co-defendants, and any other issues that might come up during the discussion.

Der Tod von Sara Ardizzone und Alessandro Mercogliano in der Nacht vom 19. auf den 20. März in Rom, nach der Explosion und dem Einsturz eines verlassenen Häuschens im Gebiet des Parco degli Acquedotti, hat eine offene Wunde hinterlassen, die nicht heilen soll. Die spontane Reaktion der anarchistischen Bewegung in Italien und weltweit war größtenteils würdevoll und im Einklang mit den Lebenswegen zweier Revolutionäre, die im Kampf starben. Ein echter Moment der Reflexion hat jedoch bisher gefehlt. Wir bedauern das nicht, sondern glauben vielmehr, dass der längere Zeitrahmen angesichts der Natur dieses Ereignisses notwendig ist. Es sind unweigerlich lange, trauergefüllte Tage, aber es sind auch Tage, an denen wir zu einem konkreten Verständnis der Fakten gelangen.

Wir glauben nicht, dass wir angesichts dieser Tragödie eine Haltung des konkreten Kampfes einnehmen sollten – mit all der Dringlichkeit, den Unwägbarkeiten und der Angst, die ein solcher Kampf mit sich bringt –, nur um etwas „Praktisches“ zu tun. Natürlich ging auch dieses Ereignis mit Momenten des Kampfes einher: Versuche, die Teilnahme an Beerdigungen mit allen möglichen kleinlichen Tricks zu sabotieren; die vorbeugende Festnahme von 91 Anarchistinnen und Anarchisten, die am Morgen des 29. März versuchten, Blumen in der Nähe der Unfallstelle niederzulegen; die Medien-Hetzkampagne gegen die Zusammenkunft am Ostermontag in Valnerina zum Gedenken an Sara. All dies wurden zu Momenten des Kampfes gerade wegen der Haltung des Staates und seiner Diener, die an verschiedenen Fronten stationiert waren (in Polizeipräsidien und Redaktionen, in Ministerien und Gerichten) – eine Haltung, die darauf abzielte, unsere Gefährten und Gefährtinnen mit einem Mantel des Schweigens und moralischer Ächtung zu überziehen. Denkt vor allem an die politische Rechtfertigung von Ministerpräsidentin Giorgia Meloni für die vorbeugende Haft der 91 Anarchistinnen und Anarchisten – die allererste Anwendung dieser Maßnahme, die die Regierung im jüngsten „Pacchetto Sicurezza“ (Sicherheitsgesetz) eingeführt hat.

Abgesehen von diesen Kampfeinsätzen, die umso notwendiger waren, als es von größter Bedeutung war, die staatliche Mahnung zurückzuweisen, die darauf abzielte, den gefallenen Gefährten und Gefährtin sozial und moralisch zu isolieren, betrachten wir die Frage nach dem Andenken an Sara und Sandro nicht als untergeordnet gegenüber den dringenden Anforderungen einer bestimmten Forderung. Vielmehr sehen wir darin ein Vermächtnis und Erbe, das über Jahre und Jahrzehnte hinweg bewahrt werden muss, indem wir es in jeden einzelnen Kampf einbringen.

Wir glauben, dass einige Monate nach diesem Ereignis eine erste umfassende Diskussion über die Fakten organisiert werden könnte. Eine Diskussion, die Zeit für Reflexion zu mindestens drei Hauptthemen lassen würde.

Erstens der technische Aspekt. Es sollte eine Frist von zwei Monaten für die Vorlage der Autopsieergebnisse gesetzt werden, und Berichte von Polizei und Staatsanwaltschaft darüber, wie sich die Ereignisse ihrer Meinung nach zugetragen haben, sollten nun eingereicht werden. Zu sagen, dass wir kein Vertrauen in die Arbeit der Profis der Repression haben, wäre eine Untertreibung, da unsere Haltung ihnen gegenüber von offener Feindseligkeit geprägt ist. Dennoch Angesichts der aktuellen Umstände, in denen der Staat das Monopol auf Wissenschaft, Forschung und den physischen Zugang zu den Leichen und dem Explosionsort innehat, erhalten die Ergebnisse dieser unwillkommenen Untersuchungen den Status von „objektivem“ Material. Es wird daher wichtig sein, dieses Material zu auseinander zu nehmen und zu versuchen zu verstehen, ob es etwas gibt, das nicht zusammenpasst, etwas, das angeprangert werden muss, etwas, auf dem Gegeninformation und eine Gegenuntersuchung aufbauen können.

Zweitens möchten wir eine ethisch-politische Diskussion über diesen Fall anstoßen. Eine Diskussion, die, um ehrlich zu sein, unmittelbar nach den Ereignissen begann, dank der vielen Erklärungen, in denen stolz Brüderlichkeit und Solidarität mit Sara und Sandro bekundet wurden – Erklärungen, die in improvisierten Vollversammlungen nur wenige Stunden nach Bekanntwerden ihres Todes abgegeben wurden und sich bei Demonstrationen, bei Aktionen in der Nähe von Friedhöfen und in den Arrestzellen des römischen Polizeipräsidiums fortsetzten. Doch ob nun, weil sie von der virtuellen Sphäre überschattet war, über verschiedene Initiativen verstreut war oder vor allem wegen des völlig natürlichen Mangels an geistiger Klarheit nach einer Tragödie, die unsere Gedanken wochenlang erschüttert hatte – fehlte es an einer horizontalen, umfassenden Diskussion, die mit ausreichender Vorlaufzeit einberufen wurde, damit Gefährtinnen und Gefährten ihre Teilnahme organisieren und ausgereifte Argumente einbringen konnten.

Zuletzt möchten wir die praktischen und organisatorischen Fragen besprechen, die geklärt werden müssen, um sicherzustellen, dass die Erinnerung an Sara und Sandro auf unserem weiteren Weg lebendig bleibt. Von öffentlichen Demonstrationen bis hin zu Publikationsinitiativen, von der Widmung von Räumen in ihrem Namen bis hin zu unserer Haltung in Gerichtsverfahren, in denen die Gefährtin und der Gefährte unsere Mitangeklagten waren und sind, sowie allen anderen Themen, die während der Diskussion aufkommen könnten.
